SCAPINO

Today's SotD is the tug Scapino (IMO: 9237577, Port of Registry: Naples, Italy). This ocean going supply vessel is capable of assisting/handling other vessels for operation at mid-sea, for carrying out berthing duties at jetties and is equipped for antipollution services. She is fitted for oil pollution control using skimmers, booms and oil chemical dispersants through spray booms. The vessel is 36.6 metres long, 11.2 metres wide, has a cargo deck of 147.8 m2 with a maximum load on deck of 290 mt. She has a maximum speed of about 14 knots, which is possible by the two 1620 KW Wartsila engines.

The Scapino arrived this morning at the Parkkade, Rotterdam.
