LOGOS II

Logos IIThe Logos II (IMO: 6806834, Port of Registry: Valletta, Malta) is a floating Christian bookshop visiting port cities all around the world. The main goals of the owners are:
- supplying vital literature resources
- encouraging inter-cultural understanding
- training young people for more effective life and service
- promoting greater global awareness
- providing practical aid and sharing a message of hope in God wherever there is opportunity

The MV Logos II is managed by Gute Bücher für Alle e.V (Good Books for All), from the offices in Mosbach, Germany, on behalf of the UK registered charity Educational Book Exhibits Ltd.

The vessel was originally named Antonio Lazaro. She was built by Union Naval Levante SA of Valencia Spain in 1968. Educational Book Exhibits Ltd. purchased the ship on 21 October 1988, and renamed her Logos II. Extensive renovations and upgrades were carried out to prepare the ship for future service. The vessel is 109 metres long, 16 metres wide and is propelled by two B&W 1035 VBF 62 in-line 10 cyl. engines with a capacity of 4592 kW (6240 bhp) total.

The Logos II will be replaced by the new acquired vessel 'Logos Hope', but since she is still under renovation, the decision was made to sent the Logos II to the Caribbean once more, although a new crew must be found for the journey.

The Logos II arrived last night at the 'Koningin Wilhelminahaven' at Vlaardingen, where work to make community life on board possible again will continue. Providing enough crew come forward for the long voyage across the Atlantic, the ship is scheduled to depart for Bermuda on 6th February.
