KNIGHTON

KnightonThe Knighton (Callsign: MNND6, Port of Registry: London) is a 64 year old tug with a bollard pull of 10 tonnes. The vessel is owned by J.A. Evelegh and operates in the fleet of Griffin Towage, UK. She is the smallest vessel in Griffin's fleet and is particularly suitable for light coastal or harbour towage, or general workboat duties for marine civil engineering support. The tug is 22.4 metres long, 5.7 metres wide, has a gross tonnage of 79 and a maximum speed of 12 knots, made possible by the Lister Blackstone eight cylinder turbocharged engine. The Knighton was built in 1944 as the "Ierland" at Scheepswerf Gebr. Fikkers, Martenshoek, The Netherlands. Over the years, she was owned by several different owners, and carried the names "Phoenix", "G.W.94", "Accomplice", "Red Duchess" and "Duchess of Troon".

The Knighton is scheduled to arrive this evening at the Yangtzehaven, Rotterdam.
