OLYMPIA

OlympiaToday's Ship of the Day is the Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) Olympia (IMO: 9387542, Port of Registry: Marseille). The Olympia is a 333 meters long, 60 meters wide vessel with a maximum draught of 22.6 meters. These dimension give the vessel a summer deadweight of 315,981 tonnes. The vessel was delivered in november 2008 by Hyundai Heavy, South Korea and is the first of two sister-ships being built by Euronav at HHI to advanced environmental protection and safety standards for deployment in the demanding oil transportation industry. The VLCC is owned and operated by Euronav, Belgium.

The Olympia will arrive this morning at the MOT Terminal Rotterdam carrying a cargo of crude oil after being anchored for over 6 months at Southwold Anchorage.
