MAREN MAERSK

Maren MaerskThe Maren Maersk (IMO: 9359026, Port of Registry: Ringkobing, Denmark) is the third ship in a series of six 7,600 teu container ships. The ship is designed and built to meet the highest demands for safe, precise, environmentally friendly and economic transportation of goods all over the globe. Among other things, a waste heat recovery system is installed to optimize the use of the energy produced. ‘Maren Maersk’ is a highly-automated ship, thoroughly monitored by advanced computer systems to ensure an optimal and efficient operation. To minimize the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions the twelve-cylinder Wärtsilä RT-flex diesel engine has been optimized for a more efficient and economical service speed. The propulsion machinery on ‘Maren Maersk’ develops 62,640kW. The Maren Maersk is 367 meters long, 43 meters wide and has a maximum draught of 15.3 meters. She was built in 2008 by Odense Steel Shipyard. Amongst the sister ships of the Maren Maersk are the Marchen Maersk, Margrethe Maersk and Mette Maersk.

The Maersk arrived last night at the APM Terminal, Rotterdam with the last port of call at Bremerhaven. She is scheduled to depart tomorrow with destination Felixstowe on Maersk's AE-2 loop.
