GEMINI GLORY

Gemini GloryThe Gemini Glory (IMO: 9233650, Port of Registry: Panama) is a 332 meters long, 58 meters wide VLCC with a maximum cargo capacity of 339,424 tonnes, contained in 17 tanks, and a maximum draught of 22.5 meters. The vessel is propelled by a HSD-MAN B&W 7S80MC-C 27535 kW engine and is owned by Gulf Marine Management S.A., Greece. She was built in 2002 as the World Crest at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, Korea.

The Gemini Glory will arrive this afternoon at the Team Terminal, Rotterdam from Sidi Kerir Terminal, Egypt for discharging crude oil.

EMERALD PRINCESS

Emerald PrincessCruise Ship Emerald Princess (IMO: 9333151, Port of Registry: Hamilton, Bermuda) is one of the cruise ships visiting Rotterdam this season. The vessel is owned by Princess Cruises which is one of the best-known names in cruising. Princess Cruises first set sail in 1965 with a single ship cruising to Mexico. Today, the line has grown to become the third largest cruise line in the world. The Emerald Princess was built in 2007 and is one of the largest ships in the Princess fleet. She offers nearly 900 balcony staterooms providing as well as several bars and restaurants, a casino, theatre, swimming pool, etc. etc. She is 288 meters long and 36 meters wide and has a gross tonnage of 113,561.

The Emerald Princess arrived at the Holland Amerikakade, Rotterdam this morning and will leave the cruiseterminal around 18.00 this evening.

BING N

Bing NToday's SOTD is the Bing N(IMO:9002776, Port of registry: Monrovia, Liberia), in the picture shown under her old name "Bergeland". The Bing N is the largest vessel in the fleet of her operator Neu Seeschiffahrt, Germany however quite a bit smaller than the new Valemax vessels, such as the Vale Italia and Vale Rio de Janeiro. With her deadweight of 322,941 tons she still one of the larger bulk ore carriers sailing. This in 1992 built, 338 meters long, 55 meters wide, ore carrier has a draught of 23 meters, has 7 holds and hatches and was built by Hyundai Heavy Ind. Co. Ltd. Ulsan, Korea.

The Bing N is schedule to arrive this afternoon at the EECV terminal, Rotterdam from Tubarao, Brazil with a load of iron ore.

CALAMITY JANE

Calamity JaneThe Calamity Jane is a versatile vessel optimised for pipeline trenching, the flooding, gauging and testing (FGT) of pipelines, offshore lifts and installation of subsea structures, survey activities and other operations in support of Allseas’ pipelaying vessels. In addition to supporting the Allseas fleet, Calamity Jane can operate as an independent trenching unit. For this purpose, she is equipped with Allseas’ mechanical trencher Digging Donald, which is fully remote controlled from the Calamity Jane and has a maximum depth of 350 meters. In addition to this other support services on dynamic positioning can be performed by the Calamity Jane, such as pipeline crossing preparation and mattress installation in deep water, all diverless.
The vessel is 151 meters long, 20 meters wide and can accomodate 72 persons. She is equipped with one fixed lifting frame for lifting up to a maximum of 200 tons and a general purpose crane for lifting up to 55 tons. The Calamity Jane is owned by the Swiss-based Allseas Group S.A. which is one of the major offshore pipelay and subsea construction companies in the world, operating specialised vessels - which were designed in-house.

The Calamity Jane is scheduled to enter the Port of Rotterdam this morning and will berth at the Broekman Waalhaven terminal.
