BERGE JAYA

The Berge Jaya (IMO: 9447550, Port of Registry: Douglas, Isle of Man) is a 361 meters long, 65 meters wide ore carrier with a maximum draught of 23 meters. These dimensions give the vessel a deadweight tonnage of 388,000. The vessel was delivered in June 2012 from Chinese shipbuilding company Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry to her owners Berge Bulk Norway. She is one of four vessels which were delivered for Berge Bulk of this type. Her sisters are: Berge Everest, Berge Aconcagua and Berge Neblina. These vessels are larger than Berge Bulk's own Berge Stahl, which was the largest bulk carrier for over 20 years. The Berge Jaya is propelled by a Dalian Marine Diesel engine and can sail up to 12 knots.

The Berge Jaya is scheduled to arrive later tonight at the EMO terminal, Rotterdam with the last port of call at Ponta da Madeira, Brazil.
