Today's SotD is the jack-up drilling rig GSF Galaxy III (IMO: 8764119, Port of Registry: Port Vila, Vanuatu). This 74 meter long, 76 meter wide rig is capable of working in a water depth up to 400 meter and can obtain a maximum drilling depth of 30,000 meter. She provides accomodation to a crew of 120. The rig is powered by four Wartsila 12V200 diesel engines driving four ABB 3,000 kva generators.The GSF Galaxy III is expected to arrive later this evening, accompanied by the Belgium tug President Hubert.
